On 14th September, some of our members peacefully walked alongside Rotarians in our Rotary District 9510, people from Zonta International, other service & support organizations and parliamentarians. Hundreds walked for respectful relationships, highlighting awareness of family and domestic violence and to say no to coercive control.
This was an inspiring event. Several other Clubs walked with us behind our own banner. The 5 speakers at Elder Park after the Walk were well received, but some people had left before the talks began due to delay between the Walk finishing and the first speaker.
Special thanks to Cressida O'Hanlon MP, for joining us to continue to bring awareness to respectful relationships, to continue to support people to say no to coercive control and to highlight domestic violence in our community. We in Rotary District 9510 appreciate your support.
Hopefully there will be ongoing direct proactivity with the ongoing serious issues highlighted, including considerations for the elderly (coercive control)
