Rotary Club of Norwood members are passionate in multiple kinds of humanitarian services around the world, and events to serve local people through various fundraising events. Fundraising events are one of the major Rotary services, either simultaneously organized or participated in certain activities per offer and invitation of organizers
BBQ Fundraising is one of the frequent methods of RC Norwood’s fundraising events. Rotary Norwood are now in cooperation with Bunnings Mile End, which enables us to serve in BBQ stall in front of the store. We sell delicious sausage sizzles as well as drinks to customers who are shopping in Bunning Mile End and hope to take snack food. Currently we serve on first Friday every month, each event lasts 7-8 hours for 3 shifts with around 10 volunteers as cashiers, cooks, preparing bread, serving sauce for sizzles and providing any assistance.

In addition to regular Bunnings BBQ, Rotary Norwood also receive invitation from other organizations, such as Norwood, Payneham and St Peters Council, to participate in community events by selling sizzles and drinks. One example is Melodies in the Park, which is annually held in Joslin Reserve, St Peters, when Rotary Norwood members set fundraising stall by selling food.
Rotary Norwood has also organized many kinds of fundraising events other than BBQ. Thanks to the conception and engagement from Sigrid Pfaffle, the executive of No Barriers Foundation as well as International Project Director of our club, we have organized two Film Night event in 2021, presented Respect and High Ground, to Rotary members, friends, and the public. Both Film Nights were great success in extent of both the satisfaction from visitors, and the fund we raised through the events. We had also organized fundraising events for End Polio Relay, as part of Rotary International’s End Polio Now project, which has achieved great success in global polio eradication initiative.

Rotary Norwood, as well as many other Australian Rotary clubs, are working in multiple cities and town to raise funds for supporting the humanitarian projects in the local and around the globe, and, to serve to change lives of both ourselves and other people on this planet.
